Services and Rates

Student Requirements
You need your own street legal motorcycle or scooter, a valid operators license with a motorcycle endorsement or learners permit, use the minimum safety gear per the Motorcyclists Handbook, and of course in this day and age, sign a waiver form.

Services and Rates
There is no fixed rate. Until things get better for us all, I am waiving my base rate of $50/hr. Everyone will still get the same great service, and when your session is over, just pay me what you think it was worth to you.

In these times a lot of us are turning to two wheel, and I want no one who is in want of my services to go without. Safety First!

The basic riding skills refresher is divided into two sections, each of which can be done in about an hour:

- Basic skills/refresher; smooth starts and stops, cornering basics, and riding and turning slowly.
This reinforces proper hand-eye coordination, together with the finesse needed for manipulation of the controls. Learn this first, and you will stay smooth and in charge of your machine.

- Evasive maneuvers, or "the bacon savers"; stopping quickly and swerving.
These two skills are the most important, however they are the most lacking among riders at all levels.

My intent is that after being shown these skill sets, folks can continue to improve on their own.  For best results, they should practice these skills on a regular basis. A quick ten minute drill on your own in a empty parking lot can make your riding safer, and more enjoyable.

In the near future, with the use of bike to bike communicators, I plan to get on the road and work with clients on corning at speed, seeing and being seen, time and space management, and other lessons in real world riding. I also foresee a class to successfully ride the NC DMV riding test.

Some Advantages of Personal Instruction from Get Riding Right!

Your instruction is one-on one personal, tailored for your needs, no matter what your current skill level. After consultation and evaluation, we identify the issues, and correct them.  So you can get back to riding, and really enjoying it.

I come to you
The instructor comes to you; so you can ride your bike in your neighborhood, and ride and learn at your our pace. Typically after an hour of supervised skill drills, you can continue to improve by riding on your own.
Whether in a parking lot, along a quiet back street, or a challenging bit of twisties, we can go where you can learn the skills and mindset you need to ride right in the real world.

What?s the catch you ask?
I can show you how to be a happier and safer rider. But it is all of no consequence if you do not apply it. This means a commitment to ride. Nothing makes a rider better than ever larger numbers on your bikes odometer. It is that simple.  My hope is that after some proper instruction, folks can go out and ride with more confidence, and enjoy their further riding and learning experience. Because you are always learning out there. The road is our teacher.
